Import a Design Interchange File
A design interchange file contains data about holes, surfaces and where the holes intersect with the surfaces. See File Formats.
This activity is an alternative to using the Import Interchange option on the Drill Pattern Designer Ribbon Menu. This activity provides the option to create a new pattern; whereas the ribbon menu option can only update a matching and active pattern.
Activity Steps
- Select the Design module.
- Right-click any node in the DataBlast Items Tree and select Import Design Interchange File from the menu.
The Design Interchange File Import screen displays.
Important: If the interchange file matches an existing pattern, its name displays in the Pattern Name field. If you select to update the existing pattern, the Pattern Name field is disabled. However, it is that pattern that is updated, not the pattern associated with the node that was right-clicked.
- Click Select File.
- Browse for and select the .dbif file.
- Select whether to Update Existing Pattern or Create New Pattern.
Important: Do not update an existing pattern if any of the holes are locked.
- If you are creating a new pattern:
- Edit the Pattern Name.
- Select the Drill Pattern Type.
- Select the Mine Block.
- Click OK.
