Wire up an Electronic Initiation Pattern

Activity Steps

  1. Select the Initiation module.
  2. Select an electronic initiation pattern in the DataBlast Items Tree.

    The pattern displays in the Viewport.

  3. On the Electronic Wire-up Ribbon Menu, select the Blast Machine.

    Note: The electronic detonator used in the charge rule for charging the holes belongs to an electronic detonator system. See Maintain Electronic Detonators. Select the Blast Machine from the equipment types for that electronic detonator system. The equipment configuration specifies important limitations, such as the maximum number of wiring paths and the maximum number of detonators per wiring path. See Maintain Electronic Detonator Systems.

  4. To wire up individual holes:
    1. On the Electronic Wire-up ribbon menu, click Add Wire-up Single.
    2. Select the origin hole.
    3. Select the destination hole(s).
    4. Press Esc or Enter to complete the selection and calculate the timing.

      Tip: The Layers Toolbar (Initiation Module) includes options to show or hide the calculated delays.

  5. To wire up a line of holes:
    1. On the Electronic Wire-up ribbon menu, specify the Auto Search Width.
    2. On the Electronic Wire-up ribbon menu, click Add Wire-up Auto.
    3. Select the first hole in the line.
    4. Select the last hole in the line.
    5. Repeat steps C and D if you have multiple lines to connect in a single wiring path.
    6. Press Esc or Enter to complete the selection and calculate the timing.
  6. To reverse a wiring path:
    1. Select the marker at the beginning of the wiring path.
    2. On the Electronic Wire-up ribbon menu, click Reverse Wire-up Order.
  7. To connect two wiring paths:
    1. On the Electronic Wire-up ribbon menu, click Add Wire-up Single.
    2. Select the last hole of one wiring path.
    3. Select the first hole of the other wiring path.
    4. Press Esc or Enter to complete the selection and calculate the timing.
  8. To delete a wiring link between two holes:
    1. Select the wiring link.
    2. Press Delete.
  9. To delete a wiring path:
    1. Select the marker at the beginning of the wiring path.
    2. Press Delete.
  10. Click Save Changes.
