Haulage Overview
DTS lets you estimate the haulage requirements from a schedule. The analysis can be performed in one of two modes:
- Calculate the haulage distance (ton kilometres) for each task as a property.
- Calculate the number of haulage resources that need to be assigned to each task to maintain the production rate.
In order to run haulage analysis, you need the following:
-
A road (or travel) network that connects the work places (tasks) to destinations (waste dumps / crushers / plants). All tasks that will require haulage need to be connected to the road network.
-
The list of haulage destinations (waste dumps, crushers, plants). The destination must be set for each task requiring haulage. The system does allow for grouped destinations to be assigned, for example, a generic crusher where the analysis will choose the appropriate crusher based on proximity and calendar.
See Destinations.
- A haulage resource must be defined and assigned to necessary tasks. This is not needed if only haulage distances are calculated.
