Validate Imported Drillhole Data

  1. Import drillhole data. See:

    The Project Validation window displays.

  2. Select the Validation Options from:
    • Collar - Duplicate Collar Locations
    • Survey - No associated Collar
    • Survey - Dip Sign Discrepancy
    • Survey - Large Dip Curvature Change
    • Survey - Large Azimuth Curvature Changes
    • Downhole - No Associated Collar
    • Downhole - Sample Interval Gaps
  3. If Validation Options includes Survey - Large Dip Curvature Change, enter the maximum Dip.
  4. If Validation Options includes Survey - Large Azimuth Curvature Changes, enter the maximum Azimuth.
  5. If Validation Options includes Downhole - Sample Interval Gaps, enter the maximum number of Gaps.
  6. Click Next.

    Error MessageDescriptionQuickfix
Duplicate depth values A downhole survey with the same HoleID and survey depth. Keeps only the first survey point.
Dip out of rangeThe dip is not between 90 and -90 degrees; for example, 120 degrees dip. Deletes the survey point.
Azimuth out of rangeThe azimuth is not between 0 and 360 degrees .Deletes the survey point.
Survey EOH greater than Collar EOHA drillhole in the survey table has an EOH that is larger than a drillhole in the collar table with the same HoleID.Changes the collar depth to match the deepest survey depth.
No Associated CollarThe survey table has a HoleID that is not in the collar table. No quick fix available.
Dip Sign DiscrepancyThe survey table has both positive and negative values for dip.Corrects the dip value sign.

    Large Dip Curvature Changes

The dip changes more than a certain; for example, 5 degrees over an interval of 50m.No quick fix available.

    Large Azimuth Curvature Changes

The azimuth changes more than a certain. No quick fix available.

    Error MessageDescriptionQuickfix

    Duplicate sample number

More than one samples have the same sample number in the downhole table. No quick fix available.

    Overlap sample interval

The downhole table has an interval overlap between separate intervals; for example, quartzite is from depth 20m to 30m and granite is from depth 25m to 40m. Keeps only the first row.

    Sample beyond Collar EOH

A sample in the downhole table is beyond the EOH. Changes the collar depth to match the deepest downhole depth.

    No Associated Collar

The downhole table has a sample without a corresponding collar. No quick fix available.

    Sample Interval Gaps

Missing data in the sample intervals for the downhole table. No quick fix available.
