Create a Point Grid Plan with Multiple Lines and Points

Activity Steps

  1. Create the first grid line. See Create a Point Grid Plan.
  2. Select the Line/Point tab.
  3. To create parallel lines:
    1. Select Create Multiple Lines.
    2. Enter the Number of Lines.
    3. Enter the Offset Distance between the lines in metres.
    4. Select the degrees to Offset towards.

The two options depend on the angle of the line drawn. For example, the degrees for a horizontal line are 360 and 180. If 360 is selected, the parallel lines are above the drawn line. The degrees for a vertical line are 270 and 90. If 90 is selected, the parallel lines are to the right of the drawn line.

    5. Select whether to Offset Alternating Lines.

If checked, points on the even line numbers are offset in the Offset towards direction by half the distance of the point spacing.

  4. Specify the Point Spacing in meters.
    1. For the Labelling settings, complete the following fields.
      • First Point Number
      • First Line Number
      • Point Increment
      • Point Prefix
      • Point Suffix
      • Integers in Sample Number
    2. Select whether to Reverse Labelling.
    3. Select whether to Change Label Direction Alternating Lines.

If checked, the labelling direction change for each alternate line.
