To easily find the COM Port on which the GPS is connected, you need to go to the Device Manager:

• Under Windows7:

  • Go to the Control Panel from Start Menu>Control Panel.

    

  • Then click Hardware and Sound.

    

  • Finally click Device Manager.

    

• Under Windows8:

  • Go to the Control Panel clicking on All Applications.

    

  • Then click Hardware and Sound.

    

  • Finally click Device Manager.

    

Device Manager

The Device Manager lists all the device connected to your computer. Click Ports (COM & LPT) to expand the item. You should see the device corresponding to your GPS with its dedicated COM Port.
