Create Rotation

The Create Rotation application allows you to create a Compound variable associated to a 3D rotation which can be used to define local parameters in kriging with local anisotropies for example.

  • Input:

    • Data Table: Click the directory icon next to Data Table to open a Data Selector and select the input data where you want to create the rotation variable. Data can be of any type: points, grid, boreholes... The Data Table can also be dragged and dropped directly from the Data tab.
    • Select the rotation Convention you want to consider. Then define the three associated components Angle 1, Angle 2 and Angle 3 which depend of this convention. These variables must be defined as angle variables, i.e. they must be associated to a angle unit class. They will be automatically set from the angle variable list thanks to the Initialize Components From Existing Angle Variables option.
  • 3D Rotation: Define here the name of the 3D Rotation variable which will be created to store the compound variable.
  • Click Create to save the new rotation variable. In the data tree, the three components will be grouped together in a sub-level of the rotation variable.
