Domain Modeling
This application is meant to model 3D domain envelopes and mesh them into wireframes/triangulations. It can use the output domain variable of the Sample Clustering application or any other categorical variables. The Domain Modeling application models one domain at a time in Intusion mode and several domains at once in Stratigraphic mode.
The 3D domain will be saved as a mesh file and could be used in Partition Validation of the Resources Workflow (that will ensure the consistency of the different modeled domains) or be exported in DXF format.
Using the potential field method, a domain can be modeled in 3D from drillholes domain information, user parameters and given constraints.
A variogram model for the potential is used. This variogram is totally different from the variogram of variables (such as grade, etc.) so the user should not set the parameters the same way. The user can add some additional information such as polarities, tangents, gradients or constraint points that will constrain the domain mesh model.
Additionally, the uncertainty on the domain volume can be assessed through conditional simulations, allowing risk curves on mineral to be displayed.
