Modify grid geometry
The Modify grid geometry functionality is designed to allow the modification of the attributes of an existing grid. These attributes are the origin, the mesh size and the rotation of the grid.
The task is located in the ribbon, following Data management / Editing tools / Modify grid geometry. It is also reachable from the Data explorer, with a right-click on the grid file. Then, click on the ’Edit’ action and select ’Modify grid geometry’.
-
Grid:
- Grid file: Select the existing grid file to modify. It must be a regular (sparse) grid in 2D or 3D. The grid can also be dragged and dropped directly from the Data explorer.
-
Grid attributes: Two columns, called Before and After, detail the attributes of the grids. On the left is the original current grid (Before) and on the right is the new modified grid (After). Only the column After is editable.
-
Origin: Set the coordinates of the origin of the new grid.
Use the buttons on the right to customize the coordinate settings. You can write the coordinates of the origin cell center or the origin cell corner. It is also possible to define the origin on the bottom left of on the top left.
- Mesh size: Set the new mesh size in the three directions.
- Rotation: Set the new rotation of the grid.
-
- Preview: Select a scene to visualize the new grid as a wire. If you want to compare with the original grid, you need to display the current grid in the same scene.
- Click Modify to change the grid geometry. The output file will overwrite the previous grid. The applied modifications are printed in the Messages window.
