Filter Data in a Data Grid
Important: Any changes you make to the display of a data grid are saved automatically and locally on your machine. When you next open that view, LandTracker displays the data grid as you last viewed it. You can also save customised views with new names, and if you are an editor or administrator, you can share a custom view with other users. See Manage Custom Views.
In addition to the filtering that may apply in Views, there are multiple ways to filter a data grid. You can apply as many different filters as required.
To use Excel-style filtering:
- Right-click the column header and select Filter For from the menu.
The Filter Column screen displays a list of all values in the column.
- Select the Type to specify how filtering and sorting should apply. Select from Area, Date, Money, Number and String (that is, text).
Note: If a column has multiple data types, filtering and sorting may not work as expected.
- Specify a Filter if required. For example:
- M*—Return any records starting with M.
- >10—Return any records greater than 10. Applicable for Date and Number data types.
<>Meekatharra—Return any records that do not exactly match Meekatharra.
Note: This functionality only supports exact matches. For instance, if a column contains "Meekatharra Newman", it still be displays, as it does not match exactly "Meekatharra".
- Between 1/1/2023 And 1/1/2024—Return any records within a date range.
- To control the filtering by individual values, check or uncheck values in the list as required.
- Click Apply Filter.
To show only records that share a selected cell value:
- Right-click a cell and select Filter By Selection from the menu.
To show only records that are different from a selected cell value:
- Right-click a cell and select Filter Excluding Selection from the menu.
To clear filtering:
- To clear filtering from a single column, right-click the column header and select Remove Filter from the menu.
- To clear all filtering, right-click the data grid settings icon and select Clear Filters from the menu.
To clear all locally stored changes to the column display, filtering, sorting and grouping:
- Right-click the view name or the data grid settings icon and select Reset View from the menu.
