Manage Custom Views

If you set a default view for an asset type, it displays when you open the Asset Browser for that asset type.

You can create custom views and view categories, even if you only have Viewer permissions for the asset type. However, you need at least Editor permissions to share a view.

Administrators and editors can delete any shared view. People with Viewer permissions can only delete their own private views. See User Management and Permissions.

To create a view:

  1. Select a system-generated or custom view in the Asset Browser. This is the view that you will customise and then save as a custom view with a new name.
  2. Customise which columns display, and any column filtering, sorting and grouping as required. See Data Grids.
  3. Right-click the currently loaded view name and select Save As from the menu.
  4. Update the view Name.
  5. Select whether the view is Shared. Read-only (and unchecked) if you are not an administrator or editor.
  6. To assign the view to an existing category, select the View Category.
  7. To assign the view to a new category, enter the new category name in the View Category field.
  8. Enter a Comment if required. The comment displays as a tooltip when you hover your mouse pointer over the view name in the view panel of the Asset Browser. The tooltip also displays any column filtering and sorting. You do not need to include that information in the comment.
  9. Click Save.

  1. Select a custom view in the Asset Browser.
  2. Right-click the view name and select Manage View from the menu.
