View or Change Package Group Status
This activity is only applicable if the Package Group status definition has been configured. See Status Definitions.
Locking the package group also controls its editability. See Lock or Unlock a Package Group
Security Note: Assuming you can view the package group, no specific security right is required to view its status history. To change the status, you need the following security rights:
• Allow discrete unit maintenance in the Supply Chain user group security rights group
• The specific Package Group status transition as an allowed status transition
Status link configuration may require that only different users can change consecutive statuses, or that the user who changes the status cannot be the user who last modified the package group.
Activity Steps
- Open the Package Group (Bulk) or Package Group (DU).
Note: You can also change package group status via the Package Group Explorer. You can highlight multiple package groups that have the same current status to change their status together. Use the Shift key to highlight multiple consecutive package groups. Use the Ctrl key to highlight multiple non-consecutive package groups.
- Select the Status History tab.
- If a full Comment is not visible, hover the mouse pointer over the field to display the comment as a tooltip.
- To change the status:
- Right-click and select Set Status To and the required status from the menu.
Note: If the Editable property of the new status is not checked:
• The package group header is read-only.
• The package group cannot be locked, unlocked, activated, deactivated, deleted or rejected.
• No packages or child package groups can be added to or removed from the package group.
• Package groups can still be unpacked.
• Packages can still be released from the package group.
• Manual activity records can still be added to the package group.
• The package group can still be sampled.Note: If the Selectable property of the new status is not checked:
• The package group cannot be added to a parent package group.
• The package group cannot be moved, or loaded onto a despatch, or unloaded from a despatch.
• Any parent package group (that the package group is already in) becomes not selectable. - Enter a Comment if required.
- Update the Applicable Status Start Date if required.
Note: Ensure that the selected date does not change the sequence of statuses within the status history. You can only edit the date of the initial status if you have permission to create the package group. You can only edit the date of a non-initial status if you have permission to transition the package group to that status.
- Right-click and select Set Status To and the required status from the menu.
- To delete a status, right-click the status and select Delete from the menu.
Note: You can only delete a status if it is the current status and if you have permission to transition the package group to that status.
- Click Save.
