Create a Train Using a Template

Security Note: You need the Allow new train despatch from template security right in the Despatches user group security rights group for this activity.

Activity Steps

1. Perform one of the following steps:
   1. To create the train via the Train Explorer:
      1. Open the Train Explorer.
      2. Right-click in the Timetable tab and select New From Template » [Train Template] from the menu.
   2. To create the train via the Solution Explorer:
      1. Select the Transport panel in the Solution Explorer.
      2. Expand the Trains » Train Templates node.
      3. Right-click a train template and select New » Train from the menu.

   The Train displays.

2. Update the following fields as required.
   • Train Name
   • Consignment Number
   • Account Number
   • Locomotives—Select from the locomotives defined on the Transport panel of the Solution Explorer.
   • Transport Operators—Select from the train operators defined on the Transport panel of the Solution Explorer.
3. Click Save.

   Note: If the Train status definition exists, the train is assigned the initial status. This status definition controls whether the train is editable and selectable. See Status Definitions.
