Record a Delay for a Supply Train or Ship

This activity presumes that incident definitions have been set up. See Incident Definitions.

If the route specifies that travel time is with delays, the planned arrival and departure for all subsequent route points can be updated to take into account the duration of delays recorded for the supply train or ship. See Enter Route Point Times for a Supply Train or Ship.

Security Note: As applicable for the transport type, you need the Allow supply train maintenance or Allow supply ship maintenance security right in the Supply user group security rights group for this activity.

Activity Steps

  1. Open the Supply Train or Supply Ship.
  2. Select the required route point in the Route diagram.
  3. Select the Delays tab.
  4. Right-click in the Incidents field group and select New Incident from the menu.
  5. Select the Incident Definition. Select from the incidents defined in the Incident Definition Editor and that have an Applicable Type of Train or Vessel.
  6. Complete the following fields as required.
    • Start Date
    • End Date
    • Comment
    • Incident Responsibility—Select from the Incident Responsibility list items defined in the List Editor.
    • Operating Capacity
    • Applicable % Override—Percentage of the delay time that is included in demurrage calculations. If entered, this applicable percentage is an override of the demurrage/despatch applicable percentage specified in the contract terms. (Not relevant for supply trains and ships.)
    • Reason Code—Select from the list items defined in the List Editor for the Reason Code List selected for the incident definition in the Incident Definition Editor.
    • Additional Measurements—Additional measurements, as configured for the incident definition. If the Data Type is Integer or Double, the symbol for the configured UOM displays in brackets after the name of the additional measurement. Positive and negative values can be entered. If the Data Type is String, the maximum length is 255 characters. If a Description has been configured, it displays as a tooltip. Hover the mouse pointer over the name of the additional measurement to display the tooltip.
    • Note: If no data is entered for an additional measurement (or if the Data Type is Boolean, and it is left unchecked, that is, false), the underlying measurement object is deleted.

  7. Click Save.

Note: If the delay was caused by another incident, see Link a Delay to another Incident.
