Set Date and Time Formats

You can use standard and custom C# .NET Framework format strings. For more information, see https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/standard/base-types/standard-date-and-time-format-strings.

Security Note: You need the Allow client settings security right in the Options user group security rights group for this activity.

Activity Steps

  1. Open the Options screen.
  2. Select the Preferences tab.
  3. Update the following fields in the Date And Time Settings field group.
    • Short Date Time Format—Format of all short date and time displays. Example: dd/MM/yyyy H:mm:ss
    • Long Date Time Format—Format of all long date and time displays. Example: dd MMMM yyyy H:mm:ss
  4. Select whether to Enter Times With Despatch Dates. Default: Checked.

If checked, times can be entered and are stored for date fields in any Train, Truck Despatch, Service Trip or Shipment.

    If unchecked:

    • Only the date can be entered and the time is stored as 00:00:00 (midnight). However, the Laycan End Date is stored with a time of 23:59:59.
    • Calculated dates on the Route Plan tab will only be affected if the duration and travel times in the route configuration are more than 24 hours. See Transport Routes.
    • A time can be selected for the Default Movement Date when loading and unloading packages and package groups. Selecting a time is recommended when unloading occurs on the same day as loading. The time is not displayed in the Movements table of the despatch, but is displayed in the Activity table of the Package, Package Group (Bulk) or Package Group (DU).
    • Existing time data is retained in the database, but is not displayed in the MineMarket user interface.

This setting affects the following dates in the despatches:

    • All dates on the Route Plan and Events tabs
    • Loading and unloading bulk transaction dates
    • Loading and unloading discrete unit movement dates
    • Planned transaction dates in loading and unloading plans
    • Dates for tonnage corrections and draft surveys
    • Berth occupancy records and laycan start and end dates (for shipments)

System dates, such as when data is created or modified, always display the time.

Note: This setting can be overridden for a Train Template, Truck Despatch Template, Service Trip Template or Shipment Template. Despatches based on those templates use the template setting instead of this global setting.
