Specify Sample Settings

This setting impacts the mass of lot samples. See Enter Lot Sample Data for a Despatch and Enter DU Lot Sample Data for a Despatch.

Security Note: You need the Allow the user to maintain Sample settings security right in the Options user group security rights group for this activity.

Activity Steps

1. Open the Options screen.
2. Select the Preferences tab.
3. Select the Lot Sample Mass Method from:
   • Use Surveyed Mass (default)—If a draft survey (bulk or discrete unit) or tonnage correction has been entered for the despatch, the surveyed mass is used to calculate the mass of lot samples and DU lot samples. (The surveyed mass displays as the Quantity in the Transactions table when entering samples.) If no draft survey or tonnage correction has been entered, the original transaction or movement mass is used.
   • Use Original Mass—The original mass from the bulk transactions or discrete unit movements is used to calculate the mass of the lot samples.
4. Click Close.
5. Click Save.
