Search for Objects

There may be multiple ways to search for an object in MineMarket, depending on the object type.

Some objects can be located using MineMarket 'explorers'; that is, screens that help you search for, view and access specific types of objects. Examples include the Despatch Order Explorer, Transaction Explorer, and Invoice Explorer. Explorers usually include a Criteria section at the top with search fields relevant to that object type.

If the MineMarket Search Service is running, you can search for any object in the MineMarket database. The Search box is located in the top right, in the MineMarket Client title bar. You can enter a search term and run the search. All matching objects are displayed in the Search Results screen.

Security Note: The search results only include objects in the domains assigned to the user group of which you are a member. See Domains. For invoices, you need the Allow the user to search for invoices security right in the Contracts domain security rights group.

Activity Steps

  1. Enter a search term in the Search box on the MineMarket Client title bar. For a search term with multiple words, enclose the term in double quotation marks (").

If Allow Leading Wildcards is True on the MineMarket Service Config screen, the search term is treated as a 'contains' query. Otherwise, the search term is treated as a 'starts with' query.

Previous search terms that are longer than two characters are saved in a search history per user. Possible matches display in a drop-down list as you enter text.

  2. Press Enter or click the Search Search icon icon.

The Search Results screen displays the results of the search.

In the Location column, hovering the mouse pointer over a hyperlink in the location path displays a tooltip with the relevant object type.

Clicking a hyperlink opens the relevant object's screen, or highlights the relevant node in the Solution Explorer.

The objects listed in the path depend on the search item. For example:

    • Stockpiles—[Business Area] > [Child Business Area] > [Stock Location] > [Child Stock Location] > [Stockpile]
    • Contracts—[Organisation Category] > [Organisation] > [Contract Category] > [Contract]
    • Despatch Orders—[Contract] > [Quota] > [Parent Despatch Order] > [Despatch Order]
  3. Use the Page Selector to select other pages if required.
  4. To filter the results by object type, select the Filter.

The search filter is retained between searches if the selected object type is applicable to the new search. If you close the Search screen, the filter is cleared.

  5. To change the default number of results displayed per page, click the Screen Settings Screen Settings icon icon and select the number of Results Per Page from the menu.
  6. To clear the search history, click the Screen Settings icon and select Clear Search History from the menu.
  7. To sort a column alphabetically, click the column header.
