Set up a Container Type

Security Note: You need the Allow container type maintenance security right in the Supply Chain user group security rights group for this activity.

Activity Steps

1. Select the Supply Chain panel in the Solution Explorer.
2. Expand the Discrete Units node.
3. Right-click the Container Types node and select New » Container Type from the menu.

   The Container Type Editor displays.

4. Complete the following fields as required.
   • Name
   • Storage Type—Select from Bulk Only, Packages Only or Both.
   • ISO Code—International Standards Organisation (ISO) code of the container type.
   • Description
   • Weight UOM—Select from the Mass units defined in the Unit Conversion Editor.
   • Tare Weight
   • Minimum Gross Weight
   • Maximum Gross Weight
   • External Length
   • External Width
   • External Height
   • Internal Length
   • Internal Width
   • Internal Height
   • Door Opening Width
   • Door Opening Height
   • Cargo Capacity Mass
   • Cargo Capacity Volume
   • Cargo Capacity Volume UOM—Select from the Volume units defined in the Unit Conversion Editor.
5. Click Save.
