Set up a Packing Item Category

Packing items must belong to a packing item category or sub-category.

Security Note: You need the Allow the user to maintain packing items security right in the Supply Chain user group security rights group for this activity.

Activity Steps

1. Select the Supply Chain panel in the Solution Explorer.
2. Expand the Discrete Units node.
3. Perform one of the following steps:
   1. To set up a top-level packing item category, right-click the Packing Item Categories node and select New » Packing Item Category from the menu.
   2. To set up a packing item sub-category, right-click a packing item category and select New » Packing Item Category from the menu.
4. Update the name of the packing item category node if required.
5. Click Save.
