Set up a Packing Item

Security Note: You need the Allow the user to maintain packing items security right in the Supply Chain user group security rights group for this activity.

Activity Steps

1. Select the Supply Chain panel in the Solution Explorer.
2. Expand the Discrete Units » Packing Item Categories node.
3. Right-click a packing item category and select New » Packing Item from the menu.

   The Packing Item displays.

4. Complete the following fields.
   • Name—Used to identify the packing item when adding the packing item to package groups.
   • Description
   • Default Mass—When the packing item is added to a package group, the mass of the packing items is used to calculate the tare mass of the package group.
   • Default Mass UOM—Select from the Mass units defined in the Unit Conversion Editor.
   • Default Number Of Items—Default number of this packing item to add to package groups.
5. Click Save.
