Create a Process Flow Diagram

Security Note: You need the Allow process flow maintenance security right in the Supply Chain user group security rights group for this activity. To rename objects in the diagram, you also need the applicable security right for that object type (Allow location maintenance, Allow route specification or Allow analyte sample maintenance).

Activity Steps

1. Open the Process Diagram Explorer.
2. Right-click a process flow diagram category and select New Process Flow Diagram from the menu.
3. Update the name of the process flow diagram node if required.
4. Click Save.
5. Right-click the node for the process flow diagram and select Open from the menu, or double-click the process flow diagram.

   The Process Flow Diagram displays.

6. Open the Supply Chain panel in the Solution Explorer.
7. Expand the Supply Chain » Business Areas node.
8. Drag a business area into the process flow diagram.

   The diagram displays in a compact format.

9. On the Layout ribbon tab, in the Arrange group, click Auto Arrange.

   The objects in the diagram spread out to display the material flows and transport routes between the locations. The diagram also displays sample templates on material flows if applicable.

10. Drag objects around the diagram to modify the layout as required.
11. To control the display of material flow names, route names or sample templates, right-click the background of the diagram and select Show Process Flow Names, Show Route Names, Show Sample Templates, Hide Process Flow Names, Hide Route Names or Hide Sample Templates from the menu as required.

    The sample template selection is saved per diagram.

12. To rename an object in the diagram:
    1. Right-click the object and select Rename from the menu.
    2. Enter the new Name.
    3. Click OK.
13. To view more information about an object or to edit it, either click the hyperlinked name, or right-click the object and select Open from the menu.

    The applicable screen displays.

14. To search for transactions on a process flow or waste process definition, right-click the process flow or waste process definition and select Search for Transactions from the menu.

    The Transaction Explorer displays with the Process Flow in the search criteria preselected.

15. Click Save.
