Force the Recalculation of Contributor Quality for a Material Flow

Often an analyte value is applied where the contributor is defined, either at a mine source or a stockpile that is set as a contributor source, and then traced through the supply chain (ROM stockpiles, plant, products, trains, port yard and shipments, and so on). However, the expected quality of particular analytes in mine products that come out of plants should be able to force the contribution quality to be recalculated.

When contributor groups are applied to the process flow, a contributor analyte can be recalculated for a contributor group so that the quality that is assigned to the contributors can be applied at the particular points in the supply chain, that is, for particular process flows.

Security Note: You need the Allow process flow maintenance security right in the Supply Chain user group security rights group for this activity.

Activity Steps

  1. Open the Process Flow, Packing Process Flow or Movement Flow.
  2. Select the Contributor Analyte Recalculation tab.
  3. Select a Contributor Group from the contributor groups defined on the Quality panel of the Solution Explorer.
  4. If the contributor group is not associated with any analytes, click Associate Contributor Group.
  5. For each analyte:
    1. Select whether to Allow Recalculation.
    2. If Allow Recalculation is checked, select whether to Recalculate For Base Assumption Data.

Whether the contribution quality can be recalculated using the Base Assumption of the process flow.

This will occur unless a result type is specified in Recalculate For Result Types, in which case, the highest confidence quality result type available from the specified Result Types is used.

    3. Select result types in Recalculate For Result Types if required.

If result types are selected, the contribution quality is recalculated using the highest confidence quality result type available for the material flow.

If no samples are available yet, the Base Assumption for the process flow is used to determine the quality at that point in time. This quality is updated as results are made available.

Note: The result types available for the selection are those that exist for that analyte definition on the Sample Templates tab of the material flow.

  6. Click Save.
