Adjust Package Mass and Quality

Adjustments can only be added to the most recent package state in the package history, and are considered to be an adjustment to that package state. For example, if the most recent package state is a package movement, the adjustment modifies data associated with that movement. The adjusted mass and quality are used for calculations that depend on the movement's mass and quality; for example, when invoicing. The activity date of the adjustment must be later than the activity date of the related package state.

Multiple adjustments can be added for a single related package state. Only the most recent adjustment can be edited or deleted.

New analytes cannot be added in an adjustment. Neither can the unit of measure for an analyte be changed in an adjustment.

Adjustments to individual packages also affect the mass and quality of any related package group.

Security Note: You need the Allow discrete unit maintenance security right in the Supply Chain user group security rights group for this activity.

Activity Steps

  1. Open the Package.
  2. Select the Activity tab.
  3. To add an adjustment to the most recent package state, right-click in the table and select Add Adjustment from the menu.
  4. To adjust the mass of the package:
    1. Select the adjustment.
    2. Update the following fields as required.
      • Activity Date
      • Number of Units
      • Net Mass
      • Gross Mass
      • Reason Code—Only applicable to the Adjustment activity type. Select from the DU Adjustment Reason Code list items defined in the List Editor.
      • Comment—Only applicable to the Adjustment activity type.

Note: If Preserve Tare Mass is checked for the package, updating the net mass recalculates the gross mass and updating the gross mass recalculates the net mass.

  5. To adjust the quality of the package:
    1. Select the adjustment.
    2. Select the Quality tab.
    3. Update the Value for each analyte as required.
  6. To delete an adjustment, right-click the adjustment and select Delete Adjustment from the menu.
  7. Click Save.
