Assign Packages to Package Group Lots (Lotting)

When lotting, you enter criteria for the package search and the lots. MineMarket selects appropriate packages and creates each lot as a child package group.

Security Note: You need the Allow package group maintenance security right in the Supply Chain user group security rights group for this activity.

Activity Steps

  1. Open the Package Group (DU).
  2. Select the Automatic tab.
  3. To add a despatch order to the package group:
    1. Select the Despatch Order. See Search for a Despatch Order to Add to a Transaction, Movement or Package Group.

A message displays, asking whether to update the required quantity and tolerance in the Lots Requirements field group on the Lotting tab.

    2. Select OK or Cancel as required.

Note: The despatch order will not be associated with the child package group (lots).

  4. To use analyte specifications to filter the packages that can be included in the lots:
    1. Check Use Specification Filter on the Lotting tab.
    2. Select the Specification Filter tab.

These specifications are used if Use Specification Filter is checked on the Lotting tab.

If a despatch order has been assigned to the package group, the table displays the specifications of the despatch order.

    3. To add a new analyte, right-click in the specifications table and select Add » [Analyte] from the menu.
    4. Update the Unit, Minimum and Maximum of each analyte as required.
    5. To delete an analyte, right-click the analyte and select Delete from the menu.
  5. Check package availability:
    1. Complete the following fields in the Criteria field group as required.
      • Start Date—Limit the search by the Applicable From date of the latest package state.
      • End Date
      • Product—Select from the products and brands defined on the Material panel of the Solution Explorer.
      • Package Type—Select from the package types defined on the Supply Chain panel of the Solution Explorer.
      • Stock Location—Select from the discrete unit locations, discrete unit divisions, and despatch locations defined on the Supply Chain panel of the Solution Explorer. Despatch locations are rail sidings, truck despatch locations, barge terminals and port locations. Default: The location (and discrete unit division, if applicable) of the package group.
    2. Click Refresh Current Status.

The Current State field group displays the availability of packages that meet the criteria.

  6. Specify the requirements in the Lots Requirements field group:
    1. Enter the total Required Quantity (not the quantity per lot) and the Required Quantity Unit.
    2. If the required quantity is flexible, enter the Tolerance Minimum and Tolerance Maximum as a percentage.

Default: The tolerances of the despatch order's contract quota, if a despatch order has been selected for the package group and the despatch order is assigned to a contract quota. Otherwise, the default is zero.

    3. If a default mark (identifier) should be applied to all package group lots, enter the Mark.

Note: The mark only displays in the Lots table of the parent package group. The mark does not display on the Package Group (DU) screen of the child package groups.

    4. Select the Lotting Method from:
      • FIFO—First In, First Out, with packages used in ascending order
      • LIFO—Last In, First Out, with packages used in descending order
      • Lower Quality First—Packages closer to the lower limits of the analyte specifications are used first
      • Higher Quality First—Packages closer to the upper limits of the analyte specifications are used first
    5. If the Lotting Method is Lower Quality First or Higher Quality First, select the Sorting Analyte from the analytes on the Specification Filter tab.
    6. Enter the number of Required Lots.

The draft lots display in the Lots table.

Note: More draft lots can be added to the Lots table by right-clicking in the table and selecting Add Lot from the menu. MineMarket updates the number of Required Lots.

  7. Select the Applicable From date to apply to the lots.
  8. Enter the details for the draft lots:
    1. Enter the Required Quantity for each draft lot.

      MineMarket updates the Total row.

Important: The required quantity must be entered for each draft lot before generating the lots.

    2. Update the Mark for each draft lot if required.
  9. Click Generate.

If the total required quantity of the draft lots does not match the Required Quantity in the Lots Requirements field group, a message displays. Select whether to continue generating the lots or whether to cancel.

If no child package groups display for the lots, ensure the Required Quantity was entered for each draft lot. (See step 8.)

If lots were successfully generated, the Lots table displays the child package groups and the quantities allocated to each.

  10. To generate additional lots:
    1. Repeat steps 4–7.
    2. Select whether to Keep Mass And Quality Of Existing Lots.

If checked, existing lots are unchanged, and any changes to specifications or other lot requirements affect only the new lots.

If unchecked, the mass and quality of existing lots are also recalculated to match any changes to specifications or other lot requirements.

    3. Click Generate.
  11. Click Save.
