Bulk Package Groups

Bulk Package Group Creation

Bulk package groups can be created:

Child Package Groups

Although bulk package groups cannot contain packages, they can have child package groups.

Filling and Emptying Transactions

Bulk package groups are filled from a stockpile and emptied back onto a stockpile. These filling and emptying transactions can be recorded directly on the package group. A packing process flow must exist to the location of the bulk package group to create filling transactions. For emptying transactions, the packing process flow must be from the bulk package group's location.

Alternatively, the package group can be associated with a bulk loading or unloading transaction on a despatch. This association is appropriate when loading containers (that is, bulk package groups) that are associated with a despatch order on the despatch. The corresponding filling or emptying transaction can be viewed (but not edited) on the Bulk Storage tab of the Package Group (Bulk) screen. A process flow must exist for this type of filling or emptying transaction.

Moving Bulk Package Groups

Bulk package groups can be moved from one discrete unit location or despatch location to another, or to divisions within those locations.

Despatching Bulk Package Groups

Loading package groups onto a despatch and unloading them also creates discrete unit movements.

Bulk Package Group Quality

Samples can be added to the filling or emptying transactions on a bulk package group.

A bulk package group can be sampled when it is moved.

Otherwise, the bulk package group inherits the supply chain quality defined by the Base Assumption of the packing process flow or process flow.
