Edit a Package

Security Note: You need the Allow discrete unit maintenance security right in the Supply Chain user group security rights group for this activity.

Activity Steps

  1. Open the Package.
  2. Update the following fields as required.
    • Name
    • Discrete Unit Division—Only editable if the package's current state is the initial state. This field is read-only after the package has been moved or has had other activities applied to it, such as unpacking. Select from the discrete unit divisions defined on the Supply Chain panel of the Solution Explorer. Only discrete unit divisions under the location of the package display.
    • Product—Select from the products and brands defined on the Material panel of the Solution Explorer that have their Product Basis set to Packages Only or Both and that are in the Allowed Products defined for the Package Type.
    • Package Type—Select from the package types defined on the Supply Chain panel of the Solution Explorer.
    • Number Of Units—Number of units in the package.
    • Net Mass—Net mass of the package, which must be less than or equal to the gross mass of the package.
    • Preserve Tare Mass—Whether to preserve the Tare Mass of the package. If checked, the tare mass is used to recalculate the net mass or the gross mass whenever either of these masses is updated. If unchecked, the tare mass is recalculated whenever the net mass or gross mass is updated.
    • Gross Mass—Gross mass of the package, which must be greater than or equal to the net mass of the package.

    Note: The Batch, Location, Stockpile Category, Despatch, Parent Package Group, Current Status, Tare Mass, Mass UOM, Recycled, Package Date and Created By are read-only fields. For Rejected and Rejection Reason, see Reject Packages.

  3. Click Save.
