Reject a Discrete Unit Package Group

Rejecting a discrete unit package group combines the results of the following activities:

  • Releases the packages from the package group
  • Deactivates the package group
  • Rejects the packages and specifies the rejection reason on each package

Package groups can only be rejected if all the following conditions apply:

  • The package group has a storage type of Packages Only.
  • The package group has no child package groups.
  • The package group has no status or has an editable status.
  • The package group is active.
  • All packages in the package group are not (yet) rejected.
  • All packages in the package group have no status or have an editable status.
  • Rejected Package Reasons list items have been specified in the List Editor.

Security Note: You need the Allow discrete unit maintenance and Allow the user to reject discrete units security right in the Supply Chain user group security rights group for this activity.

Activity Steps

  1. Open the Package Group Explorer, Discrete Unit Location, Rail Siding, Truck Location, Barge Terminal or Port Location.
  2. Find the package group. See Find Package Groups.
  3. Right-click the package group and select Reject Package Group » [Rejection Reason] from the menu.

    The Package Release screen displays.

  4. Select the Release Date.

    Note: The release date must be after the applicable date of the latest activity of the package group.

  5. Click Release.
  6. Click Save.
