Configure Supply and Demand Plan Planned Products and Groups

Security Note: You need the Allow Supply and Demand Plan Configuration security right in the Planning domain security rights group for this activity.

Activity Steps

  1. Open the SD Plan Configuration screen.
  2. Select the Planned Products and Groups tab.
  3. To create a product group:
    1. Right-click in the Products field group and select New Product Group from the menu.
    2. Update the name of the product group node if required.
  4. To add a product or brand to a product group:
    1. Right-click a product group and select Add Product from the menu.
    2. Expand the Product Categories and Brand Categories nodes.
    3. Select the product or brand.

      A prompt about whether to import the specifications displays.

    4. Click Yes or No as required.

      Note: You can also drag individual products and brands and entire product categories from the Material panel of the Solution Explorer to the product group on the Planned Products and Groups tab.

      Note: A product can be added to multiple groups. For example, a product may be produced at more than one location. If product groups are set up to represent the mine locations, the planned production and supply can be specified for the product in each mine location.

  5. To reorder how the product groups or products display on the Whiteboard tab of the supply and demand plan, right-click the product group or product and select Move First, Move Up, Move Down or Move Last from the menu as required.
  6. To sort product groups alphabetically, right-click in the Products field group and select Sort Product Groups by Name from the menu.
  7. To sort products alphabetically within a product group, right-click the product group or a product within the group and select Sort Products for [name of group] by Name from the menu.
  8. Click Save.
