Create a Ship Route

Security Note: You need the Allow route specification security right in the Routes domain security rights group for this activity.

Activity Steps

  1. Select the Transport panel in the Solution Explorer.
  2. Expand the Routes node.
  3. Right-click a node for a route category and select New » Shipment Route from the menu.

    The Route Shipment displays.

  4. Update the name of the ship route node if required.
  5. Add route points:
    1. Select the Supply Chain panel in the Solution Explorer.
    2. Expand the Supply Chain » Business Areas node.
    3. Drag each required port location into the Route Diagram field.

      MineMarket creates links between the route points.

  6. To add route markers:
    1. Right-click one of the links joining two route points or route markers and select Insert Route Marker from the menu.
    2. Enter the Name of the route marker.
  7. To reorder route points or markers, right-click a route point or marker and select Move Up or Move Down from the menu.

    Note: Create and arrange all route points and route markers before entering any times or distances.

  8. Update the following fields for each route point.
    • Loading Type—The first route point is typically set to Loading Only. The last route point is typically set to Unloading Only. Intermediate route points can be Loading Only, Unloading Only or Both. Route points can have a loading type of None if they will only be used to enter itinerary dates and times, transport events or delays.
    • Is Border Point—Whether the route point denotes an international border. Only one route point can be a border point.
    • Travel Time With Delays—Whether the calculation of the total travel time includes delays for any despatches created from then on.
    • Unit and Duration Time Estimate—Estimated time for the transport to be loaded or unloaded, or the time elapsed from the arrival time to the departure time at the route point.

      Note: Enter the unit before the value of the distance or time if you are not using the default unit. If you change the unit after entering the value, MineMarket converts the value.

  9. Enter the following fields for each route point or route marker except the first object in the route.
    • Unit and Travel Distance—Distance from the previous route point or route marker to the selected route point or route marker.
    • Unit and Travel Time Estimate—Estimated travel time from the previous route point or route marker to the selected route point or route marker.
  10. Click Save.
