Change the Template of a Service Trip

This activity is only applicable to service trips created from a service trip template. The service trip template must have the Allow Template Modification setting enabled.

When a service trip is created using a template, all route information comes from the template. The route cannot be modified by using the right-click menu option to remove the route, or by dragging and dropping a new barge route. The route can only be changed by changing the template.

Security Note: You need the following security rights for this activity:

  • Allow new barge despatch from template security right in the Despatches user group security rights group (during service trip creation)
  • Allow barge service trip maintenance security right in the Barge Despatches domain security rights group (during service trip editing)
  • Allow barge despatch template modification security right in the Barge Despatches domain security rights group

Activity Steps

  1. Open the Service Trip.
  2. Select another Service Trip Template to be used for the despatch. Select from service trip templates that have the same loading point in the current route, and if loading process flows and stockpiles are defined in the existing template, these must also match.

A warning displays that continuing with the change will delete all transaction and samples from the unloading route point.

  3. Click Yes to confirm the change.

If a sample is assigned to the unloading transaction(s) for this despatch only, the sample is deleted. If a sample is used for other despatches, the sample is unassigned from the unloading transactions. The unloading transactions are deleted. The existing unloading route point is unassigned. The new unloading point is assigned to the despatch using the existing route information to set planned arrival and departure times based upon the defaults for the route. If unloading transactions are to be automatically created, as defined in the newly assigned template, then if the departure date is set for the loading point, unloading transactions are automatically created for the unloading route point.

  4. Click Save.
