Record Transport Events for a Despatch

You can only assign transport events to route points where the route was added using a predefined route. Transport events cannot be assigned to dynamic route points.

Security Note: Depending on the despatch type, you need the applicable security right for this activity:

  • Allow train maintenance in the Trains domain security rights group
  • Allow truck despatch maintenance in the Trucks domain security rights group
  • Allow barge service trip maintenance Barge Despatches domain security rights group
  • Allow shipment maintenance in the Shipments domain security rights group

Activity Steps

  1. Open the Train, Truck Despatch, Service Trip or Shipment.
  2. Select the required route point in the Route diagram.
  3. Select the Events tab; or for a shipment, the Events sub-tab of the Itinerary tab.
  4. To use a transport event template to add transport events, select a Transport Event Template. Select from the transport event templates defined on the Train Transport Events, Truck Transport Events, Barge Transport Events or Shipment Transport Events screen.
  5. To add a transport event without using a template:
    1. Right-click in the Event tab and select New » Event from the menu.
    2. Select the Event. Select from the transport events defined on the Train Transport Events, Truck Transport Events, Barge Transport Events or Shipment Transport Events screen.
  6. Complete the following fields for each transport event as required.
    • Start Date
    • End Date—Required if Has Duration is checked for the transport event configuration.
    • Comments
  7. Click Save.
