Line-up Forecasting Calculations

The following acronyms are used throughout these calculation descriptions:

  • ATA—Actual time of arrival
  • ATD—Actual time of departure
  • ETA—Estimated time of arrival
  • ETD—Estimated time of departure

The Travel Time Estimate between route points and the Duration Time Estimate at route points can be specified when creating a barge route or shipment route.

Service Trips

ETA

If the barge ATD from the previous route point is available:

Barge ETA at the selected route point = ATD from the previous route point + travel time between the route points

If the barge ATD from the previous route point is not available, the ETD is used.

ETD

If the barge ATA is available:

Barge ETD at the selected route point = ATA at the selected route point + Time spent at the selected route point

If the ATA is not available, the ETA is used.

If the selected route point is neither a barge nor a ship berth:

Time spent at the selected route point = Duration Time Estimate of the route point

If the selected route point is a barge berth:

Time spent at the selected route point = ETD of the previous barge assigned to the same berth + Barge loading or unloading time – Barge ETA at the selected route point

If the selected route point is a ship berth:

Time spent at the selected route point = ETD of the previous barge assigned to the same ship + Barge unloading time – Barge ETA at the selected route point

Loading Time

If at a barge berth:

Barge loading time = (Draft Survey Tonnage / Loading Rate of the berth) + Swap Time of the berth + Berthing Loading Time of the berth + Unberthing Depart Time of the berth

If the draft survey tonnage is not available, the total tonnage of the active loading plan is used.

Unloading Time

If at a barge berth:

Barge unloading time = (Draft Survey Tonnage / Unloading Rate of the berth) + Swap Time of the berth + Berthing Unloading Time of the berth + Unberthing Depart Time of the berth

If at a ship berth:

Barge unloading time = (Draft Surveyed Tonnage of the barge / Loading Rate of the ship berth) + Swap Time of the berth + Berthing Unloading Time of the berth + Unberthing Depart Time of the berth

If the draft survey tonnage is not available, the total tonnage of the active loading plan is used.

Shipments

ETD

If the ship ATA is available:

Ship ETD at the selected route point = ATA at the selected route point + Time spent at the selected route point

If the ATA is not available, the ETA is used.

For a ship berth:

Time spent at the selected route point = ETD of the previous ship assigned to the same berth + Current ship loading time – Current ship ETA at the selected route point

Loading Time

If a ship berth is available:

Ship loading time = ETA at the ship berth of the first barge assigned to the ship + Unloading time of all barges assigned to the ship + Waiting time of all barges assigned to the ship

If a ship berth is not available:

Ship loading time = Time when the ship berth is available + Unloading time of all barges assigned to the ship + Waiting time of all barges assigned to the ship
