Report Configuration

Crystal Reports is a business intelligence application used to generate reports and dashboards with data from various sources. MineMarket uses Crystal Reports templates to generate reports.

A Crystal Reports template defines the layout and formatting of report outputs, including elements such as page layouts, text fields, logos, headers and footers, font styles, and other document properties.

A report can have sub-reports. If a report needs to cascade to deeper levels of information, a subreport can be created to make it more legible. Each report can have multiple parameters, tables and sublevels.

Configuring reports involves:

  1. Specifying a report template
  2. Specifying whether the data is fetched internally or externally to MineMarket
  3. Specifying report parameters
  4. Using a SQL query, an external DLL or a script to return data for the report
