Include a Billboard Column Summary
You can summarise columns with a double, float or decimal data type. The summary can be the weighted average, the mean, or the total.
You can only include a column summary for SQL-based billboards because the list of columns in the Configuration tab is required.
If you group the billboard data by column, the grouping displays the weighted average for each group of records.
If you pivot the data, the pivot value inherits any weighted-average configuration; that is, all instances of the pivoted values in each pivot column display a weighted average.
Security Note: You need the Allow billboard maintenance security right in the Billboards domain security rights group for this activity.
Activity Steps
- Open the Billboard (configuration).
- Select the Configuration tab.
- Configure grouping:
- Select whether to Allow Grouping. If checked, you can group billboard data by dragging column headings to the grouping area.
- Select the Summary Row Visibility from Both Child Groups and Top Level, Child Groups Only and Top Level Only.
- For each column to be summarised:
- Check Show Column.
- Select the Summary Method from None, Weighted Avg, Mean Avg or Sum.
- If the Summary Method is Weighted Avg:
- To calculate the weighted average based on wet mass or financial data, select the Weighting Column.
- To obtain a weighted average based upon the analyte basis of the analyte:
- Select the Weighting Column to use if the analyte has a wet basis.
- Select the Dry Weighting Column to use if the analyte has a dry basis.
- Select the Weighting Averaging Analyte Column. If the data has been pivoted, this column contains the name of the column that holds the analyte definition ID used to determine if the weighted-average calculation should use wet or dry mass to calculate the average.
- Click Save.
