Units of Measure

Units of measure (UOMs) are standardised scales or values used to quantify physical properties, such as mass, volume, density, energy, or temperature. The MineMarket Server creates a list of default UOMs; however, you can choose to hide UOMs in the MineMarket user interface. You can also set up additional UOMs as required.

UOMs belong to fixed categories in MineMarket. You can set up UOMs in any category. You can enter or update conversion factors between UOMs in the same category.

Compound units are a combination of a UOM numerator and a UOM denominator; for example:

• kcal/kg, where kcal is a unit of measure in the Energy category, and kg is a unit of measure in the Mass category.
• BCM Per Day, where BCM is a unit of measure in the Volume category, and Day is a unit of measure in the Time category.
• BCM Per Trip, where BCM is a unit of measure in the Volume category, and Trip is a unit of measure in the Other category.

Analyte definitions use units in the Proportion category for sample data.

Bulk transactions use units in the LoadingRates category.

The MineMarket Server creates the following default UOMs:

• Energy—BTU (btu), Kilocalories (kcal), Megajoules (MJ)

• Time—Day (day(s)), Hour (hour(s)), Minute (minute(s))
• Proportion—BTU/lb (btu/lb), Grams Per Tonne (g/t), kcal/kg (kcal/kg), MJ/kg (MJ/kg), Percent (%), ppm (ppm)
