Enable Archiving

Archiving refers to the process of storing and preserving MineMarket data such that it is accessible for future reference or retrieval (known in MineMarket as 'roll back'), while also freeing up system resources to improve performance. Archiving allows you to move data that is no longer frequently accessed or required for immediate operations from the active storage environment to a separate storage location, referred to as an 'archive'.

Archiving in MineMarket can be performed manually or scheduled to run automatically.

Security Note: You need the Allow server engine settings security right in the Options user group security rights group for this activity.

Licence Note: The MineMarket server must be licensed to run archiving.

Activity Steps

  1. Open the Warehouse Settings.
  2. Select the Archive Settings tab to view archive settings.
  3. Check Archive Enabled.
  4. Enter the number of allowable Archive Errors Before Notification and the Error Restart time after which the archive process will be restarted after an error situation.
  5. Perform one of the following steps:
    1. To configure a manual archive process:
      1. Set the Archiving Mode to Manual.
      2. Enter the Archive Date up to which data should be included in the manual archive. This must be later than the Previous Archive Date.

On the next server timer thread processing, if the Archive Date is in the past, all data for the period from the Previous Archive Date up to the Archive Date is archived.

    2. To configure an automatic archive process:
      1. Set the Archiving Mode to Scheduled.
      2. Enter the Archive Days, Frequency at which the process is to be run, and the Next Run Time to be scheduled.

When rescheduled, the Next Run Time = Current Run Time + Frequency.

On the next server time thread processing, if the Next Archive Date is in the past, all data for the period from the Previous Archive Date up to the Next Archive Date is archived.

Note: When an archive process is triggered, normal warehousing needs to be completed successfully by the State Engine for archiving to proceed.

  6. Click OK.

Note: MineMarket saves the changes from this screen automatically. This saving does not include any unsaved changes made on any other screens.
