Run the Excel Uploader
Use this activity to run the Excel Uploader to upload data to MineMarket.
Note: This activity presumes that the Excel Uploader is open and that the Excel Uploader is configured to connect to the MineMarket Server.
Note: If any data displays as strikethrough text, check the Calculation Options on the Formulas ribbon menu of Excel. In Excel’s Manual calculation mode, an option was introduced in 2023 called Format Stale Values. When enabled, Format Stale Values adds strikethrough formatting to some cells, and this may lead to upload errors. When using the Manual calculation mode, ensure Format Stale Values is unchecked, and press F9 to update calculations before running the Excel Uploader.
Activity Steps
- Start the MineMarket Server/Service, if it is not already running.
Note: A MineMarket Client does not need to be open. However, if open, MineMarket Clients will not impact the functionality of the Excel Uploader. Users of open MineMarket Clients need to refresh the Client and may also need to click Default Interface Definition on the Application ribbon tab to view newly uploaded data.
- In the Excel Uploader, select the CreateDataTables worksheet.
Note: The keyboard shortcut to select the CreateDataTables worksheet is Ctrl+K.
- In the G7 cell, select TRUE or FALSE for Halt on Error.
Note: If this field is missing, the assumed value is FALSE. If you copy this G7 cell and its Halt on Error label (in the F7 cell) into an existing Excel Uploader spreadsheet, you must also define the G7 cell as a named range with the name StopOnError.
- To clear the records of any previously uploaded data, click the Clear Existing Flags cell button.
This clears any data in the Id column (A) and In Database column (B) of the data worksheets.
- To start the data upload to MineMarket, click the Save to BulkTrak cell button.
The A1 cell displays the status of the data upload.
Note: When the data upload is finished, the Generation Summary table displays details about the worksheets uploaded and any errors associated with the data upload. The Id column (A) of each data worksheet uploaded displays the object ID of each object.
