Update an IMS Integration Hub Installation

Use this activity to update an IMS Integration Hub installation.

Important: If using IMS Integration Hub with MineMarket, Datamine recommends upgrading to IMS Integration Hub 2.8 or later at the same time as upgrading to MineMarket 5.1 or later because default security modes have been changed in both products. Less critical, but still recommended, is upgrading to IMS Integration Hub 2.9 or later with MineMarket 5.2 or later.

This activity presumes that IMS Integration Hub is currently installed on the system.
Contact your network administrator or Datamine representative for the location of the IMS Integration Hub software, or for assistance with its installation.

This activity must be conducted with adequate network, domain and administrator permissions to the installation machine.

Activity Steps

  1. Back up the files in the IMS Integration Hub installation folder.
  2. Back up the IMS Integration Hub database.
  3. Update the IMS Integration Hub database:
    1. If IMS Integration Hub is hosted on a SQL server, run the provided update script in a SQL Server database scripting environment.
    2. If IMS Integration Hub is hosted on an Oracle server, run the provided update script in an Oracle database scripting environment.

      Important: Note the following information about scripts:

      • Ensure that only an update script is run on an existing database; never a full setup script. Running a full setup script deletes all existing data.
      • Contact your Datamine representative for assistance with update scripts.
      • It is highly recommended that only the update scripts provided by your Datamine representative are used. Running an incorrect update script may result in significant data loss or corruption.
      • If incremental update scripts are provided, they must be run one by one and in sequence in the database scripting environment.
