BabelFish Mapping
BabelFish, developed by ISS Group Ltd (owned by P2 Energy Solutions), is a framework that enables integration of data from multiple production operation systems. IMS Integration Hub can be used with BabelFish to integrate MineMarket and Production Accounting with supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems. The installation of BabelFish is not covered in this IMS Integration Hub User Guide.
Messages are sent between MineMarket or Production Accounting and BabelFish via Windows Communication Framework (WCF) endpoints, which are configured in the configuration files of MineMarket, Production Accounting and IMS Integration Hub. The configuration of these WCF endpoints is also not covered in this IMS Integration Hub User Guide.
However, the BabelFish engine must be registered via the IMS Integration Hub application; and mappings are imported and edited within the IMS Integration Hub application. Mappings consist of a series of name-value pairs that identify objects in MineMarket or Production Accounting and the equivalent objects in Babelfish. For example, MineMarket could request the value of ash for a sample on a coal transaction process flow. The concept of a process flow with a configured sample template is specific to MineMarket. The Babelfish mapping is used to 'translate' this concept into the equivalent concept in the historian of the SCADA system, allowing the ash value to be sent to MineMarket.
Mappings can be imported from an Excel spreadsheet, or can be entered and edited directly in IMS Integration Hub. Mappings cannot be exported from IMS Integration Hub. The Mapping Configuration screen is used to edit mappings, and the Element Mapping Editor is used to edit the details of elements within a mapping.
