Enter logsheet data

Most logsheet data is acquired automatically by integration with other systems; for example, a LIMS or DCS. Data can also be entered into logsheets manually if required; for example, for stock take, reconciliation or to override data such as assay values.

Note: See Logsheet Data for general logsheet data entry tips and guidelines.

Activity Steps

  1. Open the required Data Entry Logsheet screen.
  2. Select the date or time period using the Year, Month and Day fields.
  3. Select the Shift if required.

Note: Use the arrow buttons to select the previous or next period. Date selector previous period button Date selector next period button

  4. Click Submit.

The logsheet data for the selected shift or time period displays.

  5. Select a logsheet section from the list if required.

The data for the selected section displays.

Note: For some logsheets, the list of sections is long. When you select a section, its subsections, items and data cells may display centre-aligned to the vertical mid-point of the list. You may need to scroll up or down to find them.

  6. If required, click Edit to make data entry cells editable.

Note: The Edit button is generally located at the bottom of the logsheet screen. You may need to scroll down to find it.

  7. Enter numeric values in the required fields.

Note: Enter numeric values only. Text and mathematical symbols (for example, < or >) are not permitted. For decimal values, you must include the leading zero before the decimal separator (for example, 0.5 or 0,5).

  8. Enter Comments if required. Some logsheets include data entry cells for text comments. General comments added within a logsheet (rather than as audit comments) are visible only when you view the logsheet or if extracted into a report.
  9. Enter Audit Comments if required. Audit comments are attached to the data you update. They are visible when you view the logsheet and are recorded in the system's Audit Log. Hover your mouse on the audit icon next to a value to display the attached audit comment.
  10. Click Save.

Warning: If you go to another screen or logsheet section without clicking Save, your data entry will be lost.
