Configure a Movement Table Query in the Pivot View
A Movement Table in the Pivot View summarises material movements between sources and destinations—for example, tonnes hauled from underground or pits to stockpiles and/or the crusher. You can group, filter, and visualise movements to analyse how material flows through the value chain.
Use the Configure Data and Configure Display panels and the filters at the top of the Pivot View screen to build a movement table query.
Activity Steps
-
Open the Pivot View Screen.
The Pivot View screen displays either a default configuration or your most recently viewed configuration.
- Apply a Period filter to ensure the dataset you select (at a later step) is within the required reporting period:
- At the top of the screen, check the Period selection box.
- Select the required Period filter.
- Click the Apply Filters & Refresh icon.
- Select and configure the dataset:
- Click the Configure Data icon on the right hand toolbar.
The Configure Data panel displays.
- Set the Source to Movements.
Note: The Movements option displays tonnes, grades and other attributes for material moved between specific locations (for example, pit name to crusher name, stockpile name to plant name).
- Select and arrange dimensions:
- From the Columns drop-down list, select dimensions such as Date Shift, Destination, Lithology Type, Material Type, Movement, Source and Status.
- From the Rows drop-down list, select grouping dimensions (similar options to the Columns examples above).
Tip: Group by Source Type Name and Destination Type Name to see total movement flows. Then, use the custom filters (see step 4) to drill down to the relevant data. For example, Custom Filter: Source Type Name = Stockpile.
- To remove a selected dimension as a grouping field in the table, uncheck its selection box.
- To delete a selected dimension, click its delete icon.
- To change how data is grouped, drag and drop selected dimensions within and between the Columns and Rows lists. Or, use the Swap Columns and Rows option to swap all selected dimensions from column to row and vice versa.
- From the Values drop-down list, select the attributes to display; for example, Wet tonnes, Dry tonnes, Grade (such as Au, Cu) and Metal.
Important: You must select at least one value to display in the chart or table.
- Click Apply or Apply & Close to update the screen's chart or table.
- Click the Configure Data icon on the right hand toolbar.
- To refine the dataset by date, source, destination, or material type:
- At the top of the screen, select a Custom filter and filter dimension. For example, you might filter by Source = Pit A and Destination = ROM Pad 1.
- Click the Apply Filters & Refresh icon.
- Configure how the dataset displays:
- Click the Configure Display icon on the right hand toolbar.
The Configure Display panel displays.
- Select the View Mode from:
- Chart and table
- Chart only
- Table only
Note: Charts let you visualise your data as a Grouped Bar or Line or Pie chart, and make it easier to see which sources or destinations contribute most to total movements.
- If required, select the Chart Type from:
- Grouped Bars
- Line
- Pie
- If required, select the Chart Colour Dimension to display that dimension's configured colours on the chart (see Colours). The available options are determined by your selections for the Column and Row dimensions and Values on the Configure Data panel.
- Select whether to Include Totals. If selected, overall sums display at end of the table rows and columns
- Select whether to Colour table metric values using control limits. If selected, the table displays colours on cells where the tolerance for comparisons have been configured. See Control Limit Styles and Comparison Calculations.
- If required, select the Chart Control Limits. The chart displays colours for selected metric where the tolerance has been configured. See Control Limit Styles and Comparison Calculations.
- Click Apply or Apply & Close to update the screen's chart or table.
- Click the Configure Display icon on the right hand toolbar.
- To save this movement table query with your selected dataset, filters and display settings, see Save a Configuration.
