Add Comparison

Add Comparison allows definition of the metrics used, colour of the comparison on a chart, and the order number that it displays in the reference lists on the analysis screens.

Activity Steps

  1. Select the Add Comparison button at the top of the Comparisons screen.
  2. Fill in the following required fields:
    • Comparison Name
    • Comparison Abbreviation – This is the label that is used on charts and on the continuum comparison ribbons.
    • From Metric – The order that you select From and To metrics determines which metric is used as the denominator.
    • To Metric – The order that you select From and To metrics determines which metric is used as the denominator.
    • Chart Colour
    • Order Number – Determines the ordering in the reference lists.
  3. Ensure the boxes in the middle of the screen are appropriately activated: (that is, a comparison with Resource Model and Plant Product will only make sense for metal).
    • Valid for tonnes & volume comparisons
    • Valid for attribute comparisons
    • Valid for metal comparisons

The formula that is used for all comparison calculations is shown at the bottom of the screen.

Comparison types:

MT and MF denotes "To Metric" and "From Metric" respectively:

  • Actual Difference Δ = MT − MF
  • Factor = MT/MF
  • Percent Difference = ((MT − MF)/MF) * 100 or ((MT/MF)-1

Navigate to Comparison Calculations to set the comparison type.
