Configure the Data Approval View

Security Note: You need the Data Approval - Administrate security option in the associated role security group for this activity.

This activity describes the initial set up of the Data Approval screen view. If a screen view has already been set up, the configuration toolbar on the right of the screen is hidden.

You can create multiple Data Approval screen views, but only one can be Locked to the screen for use by approvers at any given time. To change the view, edit the view, or create additional views after the initial view has been set up, you need to first unlock the screen configuration via the Analysis Configurations Screen.

Activity Steps

  1. Open the Data Approval Screen.
  2. Click the Configure View icon on the right hand toolbar.

    The Configure View panel displays.

  3. To add Views:
    1. Click Add selection.
    2. Select a saved screen configuration from the drop-down list. The list displays saved screen configurations from other Reconcilor analysis screens (except Dashboards and Data Approval) that have Visibility set to Global and are Locked. See Screen Configurations.
    3. Click Apply.

      The selected configuration displays in a view panel on the main screen area.

    4. Repeat steps a-c to add all the required configurations to the view.
  4. To reorder the views, click the up or down arrows next to the view.
  5. To remove a view, click the delete icon next to the view.
  6. Click Apply & Close to apply changes and close the Configure View panel.
  7. To save and lock this view configuration:
    1. Click the ellipsis icon (...) next to the configuration name at the top of the screen and select Save As from the menu.

      The Save New Configuration pop-up window displays.

    2. Enter a clear and descriptive configuration Name.

      Note: Names must be unique per screen. Duplicate names trigger an error.

    3. Select the Visibility as Global.
    4. Select the Locked status as Locked.

      A message displays that Configuration management interface will be restricted after saving.

    5. Click Save.

      The Save New Configuration pop-up window closes.

      The screen refreshes and a Locked status displays next to the configuration name at the top of the screen. The screen configuration toolbar is now hidden.

      Users with the required permissions to approve data can now access the Data Approval screen. The screen will display this view and the functions to approve and unapprove data, and add comments.
