Scanlines
A scanline is a type of traverse. In Sirovision, scanlines are straight lines that are drawn across the rock face and are enclosed in a 3D box, known as a censor box. Any discontinuity that traverses this scanline is selected and analysed as part of that scanline set.
Sirovision classifies any joints crossing the scanline as follows:
Censoring
Censoring indicates if the joint starts or ends inside and/or outside the censor box.
- 0 Censoring – The joint BOTH starts AND ends INSIDE the censor box.
- 1 Censoring – The joint EITHER starts OR ends INSIDE the censor box.
- 2 Censoring – The joint BOTH starts AND ends OUTSIDE the censor box.
Termination
Termination indicates if the joint terminates against a structure.
- 0 Termination – NEITHER end of the joint terminates against a structure.
- 1 Termination – ONE end of the joint terminates against a structure.
- 2 Terminations – BOTH ends of the joint terminate against a structure.
Export Categories
When exporting the scanline data as a CSV or Text file, each joint that crosses the scanline is assigned a CATEGORY as shown below. Also see Export Mapped Objects.
- 0 – No termination, no censoring.
- 1 – No termination, 1 censoring.
- 2 – No termination, 2 censoring.
- 3 – 1 termination, no censoring.
- 4 – 1 termination, 1 censoring.
- 5 – 2 terminations, no censoring.
- Blank – Joint is located inside the censor box but does not cross the scanline.
