License Expiry Period
License keys are stamped at their time of creation with the relevant date and time. These details record the date and time when the key is generated - not when it is installed. If a valid license is needed up to a specific date, then this date must be specified when the license is generated, rather than a number of days from when you plan to install the key.
Evaluation and Demo Licenses display a time-triggered message when the expiry date is approaching.
By default, Renewable Licenses display this message when they are within two weeks of their expiry date. However, the warning period can be modified to a minimum of two days, as follows:
- Tools >> Options.
- On the Options screen, select the License Warning Settings tab.
-
In the License Expiry group, specify the number of days in the Days before license expires box.
Note: For periods longer than one day, only whole days are shown in the expiry message (for example, 4.5 days is shown as 4 days). With less than one day remaining, the display changes to hours and minutes.
License Expiration Messages
License Manager provides a desktop warning when a license is close to expiring - this is displayed for five seconds, and is then hidden.
