License Manager Menus

The License Manager is the visual component of Datamine's License Services, enabling licenses to be allocated, and expiry dates to be monitored. Access permissions for licenses can also be assigned by a server administrator using the License Manager.

Command Summary

Note: Some of the commands below are also accessible from context sensitive menu options, activated by a right mouse click.

File Menu

Import License File <ALT>+<F>+<I>

Import an encrypted license file (.lic).

Note: Decryption requires the encrypting dongle or Machine ID

Export License File <ALT>+<F>+<E> Encrypt and export a license file (.lic).
Open Log File   <ALT>+<F>+<O>

If logging is enabled, display the current log file.

Work Offline    

Disconnects License Services from, or reconnects it to, the network.

Toggles the Use Remote Servers option.

Exit   <ALT>+<F>+<X> Close the License Manager. The License Service will remain running.

License Menu

Register License Key <ALT>+<L>+<R>

Register a new license key on the local PC using the Register New License screen.

Check Out <ALT>+<L>+<O>

Reserve a license exclusively for the local PC, making it unavailable to other server users until it is checked in.

Check In <ALT>+<L>+<I> Check in a previously checked out license key, making it available to other server users.
Unlock   <ALT>+<L>+<U> Unlock a previously locked key, even if it is currently in use.
Reset >> Lock   <ALT>+<L>+<E>+<L> As above.
Reset >> Check Out   <ALT>+<L>+<E>+<C> Resets the check-out status of a license on a server.
Reset >> All Selected Licenses   <ALT>+<L>+<E>+<A> Resets all the lock/check-out statuses of selected licenses on a server.
Create New Solution   <ALT>+<L>+<C> Creates a new, user-defined group of programs/modules (solution). Note: Only available with Solution Management.
Rename Solution   <ALT>+<L>+<S> Renames an existing solution.
Add/Move License to Solution   <ALT>+<L>+<A> Adds selected programs/modules to a solution. Only available with Solution Management.
Remove License(s) from Solution   <ALT>+<L>+<L> Removes programs/modules from a user-defined solution. Only available with Solution Management.
Delete <ALT>+<L>+<D> Deletes a license.
Not applicable to evaluation licenses.
Permissions    

Opens the Permissions screen.Only displayed when Enterprise options are enabled.

Properties <ALT>+<L>+<P> Display the License Properties panel.

View Menu

Refresh      
Toolbars >> Field Chooser     Selects fields to be displayed in the License Manager window.
Toolbars >> Properties   <ALT>+<V>+ <T> + <P>

Displays details of a license including: product, license type and expiry date.

Toolbars >> Standard   <ALT>+<V>+ <T> + <S> Toggles the standard toolbar. Any customized toolbars are listed similarly.
Toolbars >> Customize   <ALT>+<V>+ <T> + <C>

Display the Customize screen to create or modify toolbars, set up keyboard short-cuts and change mouse behaviour.

Status Bar     Toggles the status bar.

Tools Menu

Display Registered Keys   <ALT>+<T>+ <D>

Display theRegistered Keys screen which displays all the license keys currently installed. It contains tabs for License Keys and Maintenance Keys.  

Registration Wizard   <ALT>+<T>+ <W>

Starts the Registration Wizard which helps you to define your license requirements.

Connected Clients Summary   <ALT>+<T>+ <C> Shows a summary report listing all clients currently connected to the license server. If no clients are currently connected, this option is disabled.
Admin Key   <ALT>+<T>+ <A>

Display the Register Admin Key screen.

Maintenance Key   <ALT>+<T>+ <M> See Register a Maintenance Key

Remote Servers Options <ALT>+<T>+ <R> See Remote Servers Options.
Copy Machine ID    

Copies the current Machine ID to the clipboard. This is useful if you need to provide this to Datamine, for example, to order license keys.
