Licenses Locked on Server

When using a license from a remote License Server, a network outage may cause a locked license to remain locked on the server - even after the application has been shut down.

 

Solution

  1. On the License Server, launch the License Manager.
  2. In the main menu, browse to Tools |Options...to launch theOptions dialog.
  3. In the Options dialog, select the License Service tab, and click Restart to restart this service. Any licenses affected by the network interruption will be unlocked.

    While the License Service is restarting, a "License is unavailable message" may be displayed on client computers. In this event, click Retry on the client computer until the License Service has restarted, and licenses become available.

  4. If the above process fails to unlock the licenses, an Admin key may be required.
