Block Model Parameters

To access this screen:

  • Select Insert >> Definition >> Block Model

The Block Model Parameters screen is shown when a block model definition is inserted into the existing table, and is used to define default values for the new columns added, where default values need to be defined.

The following fields must be populated, before clicking OK to add new columns:

  • XMORIG, YMORIG, ZMORIG – (X,Y,Z) co-ordinates of the model origin. The origin is set with respect to the corner of the first parent cell and not its centroid.

  • XINC, YINC, ZINC – XYZ cell dimensions. If the model is not to contain any subcells, then these three fields can be implicit (not stored on every record). This reduces the storage space required by the model.

  • NX, NY, NZ – The number of model parent cells in XYZ. The application allows a value of one for modelling seams. The number of cells, in combination with the cell dimensions, defines the extent of the model.

Note: The listed fields do not represent all fields associated with a block model definition. Instead, fields are only shown representing data properties that require a user-defined default value.
