Command Overview
Extend the final segment of a string using its current azimuth and dip to terminate on a wireframe surface. Where a surface is intercepted, a final string vertex is added at the nearest surface of the target wireframe.
This command behaves differently depending on the data that is selected before the command is run (if any):
-
If a wireframe object is selected before running the command (only a single surface must be selected), select one or more strings to extend to the nearest surface of that wireframe.
-
If one or more strings are selected before running the command, select a wireframe to extend all selected strings to, if extending their final string edge cleanly intersects the target wireframe's surface.
-
If no data is selected, you are asked to pick the wireframe and string(s) to extend.
Note: You can undo and redo this command.
Command steps:
-
Ensure at least one wireframe and one string overlay is displayed in any 3D window.
-
Preselect data if required.
-
Run the command.
-
Pick the wireframe and/or string data to trigger the extension of string(s).
-
Pick more strings to extend if required.
-
Click Done to finish data picking mode.
-
Save your project.
