Command Overview
Add points to a string that intersects a wireframe surface, at the point of intersection.
This command designed to handle a wide range of situations: from a single string and wireframe to multiple strings intersecting multiple wireframes, including cases where strings double back over the same wireframe.
Data preselection is supported with this command:
-
Run the command with nothing selected and then click the strings and wireframes you want, or
-
Pre‑select one or more strings and/or wireframes, and the command will use your selection to decide what to ask you (or skip prompts entirely).
Intersection points are added to the target string(s) wherever they intersect a wireframe surface. This includes internal surfaces, or if strings intersect the wireframe in more than one place (say, a string that passes through two or more lobes of a folded wireframe volume).
Command steps:
-
Load and display at least one wireframe and one string overlay. Strings to be updated must intersect at least one wireframe surface.
-
Preselect wireframe and/or string data.
-
Run the command.
-
Depending on your data selection states, one of the following happens:
-
If strings are selected, but wireframes aren't, you are asked to select a wireframe overlay.
-
If wireframe data is selected, but strings aren't you are asked to select string(s) to update with additional intersection points.
-
If nothing is selected, you are prompted to pick the wireframe, then the string(s) to update.
-
I both strings and wireframe data are selected, the selected intersecting strings are automatically updated. You can then select more strings if required.
Note: If string data is selected that does not cleanly intersect a wireframe in at least one place, the string is not changed.
